First, you want to get all gussied up, looking your best. You want to throw some grease in your hair and slick it back so it looks like you have just had a conversation with Elvis about hair or that you just dipped your head into a tar vat being used by a road construction crew.
That’s how you impress girls. Slick hair and good clothes. Good news though, I’m messing with you. You don’t need slicked-back hair and expensive girls to impress a girl, but you do need confidence, class and coolness. These are all exerted by the person – you – not by the appearance of the person. Although appearance does help.
First, we’ll talk about appearance and then we’ll talk about how you should act. Should you act yourself? Should you put on a temporary appearance? I’ll direct all these questions and answer them to an extent that will help you in your womanly endeavors.
Appearance
You want to look good, but you don’t have to go out and spend hundreds of dollars on one outfit. If you have the money, go ahead; but, if you don’t have the money (like a lot of people) you can shop at stores that still promote style and are low in price. Stores like H&M are like this. They have quality clothes that mimic the style in New York City, but they are sold at a fraction of a price compared to the designer clothes they mimic.
You want to have a good appearance, but you don’t want the clothes to wear you. You want to wear the clothes. Say you see a great piece of clothing that is in style and people are telling you it is the hottest article out there. If it doesn’t look good on you, don’t buy it. Girls will find that you look awkward in fashionable clothes if you aren’t comfortable wearing them. If you feel uncomfortable you will make the girl feel uncomfortable and, consequently, you won’t impress a girl all that much.
Invest in good shoes though. No matter what you like to wear and regardless of the style you are in to, always invest in good shoes. Loafers, for instance, are a sure bet. You can buy nice loafers at any discount store or Macy’s. Shoes are the final touch of fashion and even though you wear them on your feet, they can make your impression on her that much more memorable.
How Should I Act?
You should act like yourself, but you have to add a little spunk to your step. What do I mean by this? You need to act yourself and not try too hard, but you also have to display a lot of confidence in yourself. Confidence and wit are key when trying to impress a girl. Girls like a man with confidence and a man who can make decisions. So, if a girl asks you what you like or where you like to go, you answer without hesitation. Don’t retort with a similar question directed towards her. Answer the questions asked to you immediately and then you can ask her a question. Don’t act shy. A lot of girls are usually turned off by shyness. A little is alright and may even help your impression, but total shyness is social suicide and you will not project a good impression of yourself onto her unless you show your shyness in small doses.
You don’t want to try too hard to be someone you aren’t because the girl will look at you as a fake and not as the person you are trying to be. It is a lose-lose situation because you do not act yourself (and are not comfortable) and the girl gets a bad vibe. That is not a good impression and don’t listen for a second to anyone who tries to tell you different.
It’s hard to act yourself, I know. But it is necessary and it will pay off in the long run. If you end up really liking the girl you impress, you won’t have to worry about her seeing your “true side” because she will already have seen it. If you fake a personality and end up going steady with the girl, bad things are bound to come.
